LBD for every body type

When it comes to buying LBD(Little black dress), it seems to be the easiest and at the same time the hardest choice to make. Normally, if dress patterns and prints let you disguise your imperfections, then it becomes a bit more tricky with LBD or just one-coloured dress. You have to take into consideration only the cut of dress and nothing else. So here I will try to help choosing the right cut for different body types.

Pear Shaped or Bottom Heavy
The best way to balance out your top and bottom is to choose a dress that is tight on top and shows off your waist. The main part though is to get a dress that has a fuller skirt, hiding real size of your lower part. Keep your accessories classy and flirty but in same time very simple so they do not overpower that lovely, big skirt.

Plus Size
Yes, you are curvy, but it does not mean you can't be stylish. Thanx to Diane von Furstenberg we all have this awesome piece that suits any body type and especially curvy figure - a wrap dress. Besides that, showing some skin with lace detailing is very sexy. Try creating connection between lace and some of your accessories to complete the look and take main focus off your body.

Petite
Don't wear giant bows or puffed sleeves, that will make you look even smaller. Instead take something with fringe elements that only the owner of your body type can pull off still looking sleek and simple. Besides that, fringe tends to elongate the silhouette. Same applies to accessories - no huge things on you.

Too Thin or Boyish
If your body is boyish, thin and does not have any curves, you have to add them up with textures. Here, all the big details like ruffles or layers, will be the right choice. Do not exaggerate with femininity in accessories, otherwise it will look like you are trying too hard, instead opt for classy pieces.

Wide Shoulders
Common problem choosing a dress - trying to hide shoulders. That makes them look even wider. So you need to balance the body by using asymmetrical neckline for instance. Too slim bottoms will make your shoulders look wider too, so take a skirt that is sleek but not too tight. Draw attention to your accessories with classic metallic colours.

Small Bust
You are pretty lucky to have smaller bust, as most of clothing is made for you. Although, if you want to add more volume, simply choose a dress that has additional details on bustline, like ruffles or layers. But make sure you go with accessories in same texture, so that they complement ruffles on bust, thus making it an outfit while camouflaging your real intentions.

Full Bust
The main thing here is to get all attention off your bustline using more conservative necklines like portrait or bateau but in the same time not hiding your upper body part. Draw all attention to details like slit sleeves and bright short necklaces. Keep your accessories light and bright.

Thick Waist or Apple Shape
There are three ways to hide your undefined waistline. Choosing an empire waistline and raising it, lowering it in 20ies style dresses or eliminating it altogether by choosing a dress with absolutely straight silhouette. Take any of those, add feminine accessories and you will look gorgeous.
